Arun Jaitley Accepts Chauhan Isn't The Best Choice For FTII Chairman
Here's the latest update from the world of Bollywood. We bet you wouldn't want to miss this. Read on for details... Did Resul just expose the Government with his tweet about the I&B Minister?
The FTII controversy seems to be a never-ending one. While the students' protest against Gajendra Chauhan's appointment as the Chairman runs into its 28th day, the man himself refuses to step down.
Now, the controversy seems to have taken a surprise turn.
Resul Pookutty, who is an alumnus of the premier institute, has posted a tweet that might put the Government in a very uncomfortable position.
The sound designer and editor tweeted:
Yes, if Resul's tweet is anything to go by, the Information & Broadcasting Minister, Arun Jaitley himself has accepted in a meeting that Chauhan is not exactly the best fit for a prestigious post as this. The I&B Minister is believed to have further explained that the Government finds it hands tied now and cannot react to the controversy.
Now, this surely comes as a huge blow.
The students' protest has found support from many Bollywood celebrities like Ranbir Kapoor, Kalki Koechlin, Kiran Rao, Anupam Kher and Piyush Mishra, among others (Ranbir: FTII students need an aspirational figure as Chairman, July 9).
However, Chauhan and the Government have stood their ground firmly despite the protests.
